Ms Marvel

When it comes to customs, few artists do it quite like John Ficchi of VinceVell Customs. John transforms a completed statue into something unique and one of a kind. Such is the case with his latest masterpiece, the beautiful Ms. Marvel.

Similar to other statues from VinceVell, John created Ms. Marvel from another statue. Originally, this was the Sideshow Vampirella Premium Format Figure. With the recent buzz around the new Captain Marvel Movie, John wanted to pay homage to the classic look for Carol Danvers.

So what changed about the statue? Lets take a closer look.

First, John removed the horror inspired base and created a simple base that does not take away from the character. Often elaborate bases look great, but they also make it difficult to display. Next, sculpted in the iconic Ms. Marvel costume. At least Vampirella’s original costume was very revealing. Almost leaves a blank canvas to start from. Nonetheless, John created a new outfit, gloves, and Domino Mask for Danvers. Lastly, John added an entirely new hairstyle. Vampirella’s original hairstyle is ethereal and spooky. John needed something more accurate to Danvers’s look in the comics.

Of course, a VinceVell Custom would not be complete without John’s amazing paintwork. Like all of John’s customs, his paint application is masterfully done. The statue has sharp lines and exquisite shading. The multiple colors in the hair give it depth and volume. Overall, its a beautiful one of a kind statue.
